Jammu Division sees steady rise in tourist footfall over past three years | KNO

Over 1.8 crore visitors in 2023, 2 crore in 2024, 1.6 crore in 2025

Jammu, Feb 20 (KNO): The government on Friday said that Jammu Division has witnessed a steady rise in tourist footfall over the past three years, with 1,80,24,166 visitors in 2023, 2,00,91,379 in 2024 and 1,62,35,036 tourists recorded in 2025 so far. Replying to a starred question tabled by MLA Javid Hassan Baig in the Assembly, the Minister Incharge, Tourism Department, as reported by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said the department maintains destination-wise data, and the details have been placed as Annexure-A. As per official figures, in Reasi district, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi/Katra recorded 97,28,712 tourists in 2023, 94,55,605 in 2024 and 69,32,922 in 2025 (till date), accounting for the highest share of arrivals in the division. In Udhampur district, Shiv Khori received 20,68,575 visitors in 2023, 14,41,206 in 2024 and 10,56,805 in 2025, while Patnitop recorded 9,91,275 in 2023, 11,67,134 in 2024 and 8,39,937 in 2025. Sudh Mahadev saw 1,51,737 tourists in 2023, 1,42,131 in 2024 and 81,537 in 2025. In Jammu district, Mansar recorded 10,57,905 visitors in 2023, 13,20,952 in 2024 and 8,41,518 in 2025; Sukhdev R.S. Pura saw 2,63,927 in 2023, 2,56,733 in 2024 and 1,75,864 in 2025; while Bagh-e-Bahu and other local spots also contributed to the overall numbers. In Kathua district, Sukrala Mata recorded 3,85,643 tourists in 2023, 3,24,451 in 2024 and 2,14,416 in 2025, while Jakhbar and adjoining areas also witnessed steady inflow. In Ramban district, Sanasar received 2,35,833 visitors in 2023, 1,79,950 in 2024 and 1,93,215 in 2025, while Tatta Pani recorded 2,91,516 in 2023, 1,08,161 in 2024 and 52,735 in 2025. In Doda district, Bhaderwah saw 4,92,075 tourists in 2023, 6,46,888 in 2024 and 5,49,291 in 2025. In Kishtwar district, Paddar/Machail recorded 91,808 visitors in 2023, 75,354 in 2024 and 97,213 in 2025, while Kishtwar/Sinthan registered 22,280 in 2023, 12,570 in 2024 and 14,231 in 2025. In Rajouri district, Baba Ghulam Shah and adjoining areas recorded 71,227 tourists in 2023, 21,423 in 2024 and 21,423 in 2025 (as per compiled data). In Poonch district, Mandi and other tourist spots recorded 13,882 visitors in 2023, 83,531 in 2024 and 83,531 in 2025. In Samba district, Utterbehni recorded 1,60,807 tourists in 2023, 1,31,552 in 2024 and 91,137 in 2025. The minister said the overall surge in tourist inflow reflects improved connectivity, strengthened infrastructure, enhanced security arrangements and focused promotional campaigns undertaken by the government to boost tourism across Jammu Division—(KNO)
